Welcome to the campsite
Open to motorhomes and vans from the MIMOSA Festival, held every year in February. Heated sanitary facilities.
Open to all, from March 1ᵉʳ to November 15.
Less than 10 minutes from the Pont d’Oléron, take advantage of its location to visit the heritage of both the Ile d’Oléron and the Charente-Maritime region.
Le Maine campsite on the Ile d’Oléron enjoys a unique location, being the only campsite close to Vert-Bois beach.
Enjoy a peaceful stay in the heart of nature, between marsh and forest, just 5 minutes by car from the town centers of Grand-Village-Plage and Dolus d’Oléron.
During the summer season, in partnership with the Communauté de Communes, the campsite offers a free shuttle service to the island’s beaches, towns and villages on 5 routes. This is the LIGNE VIOLETTE, and the stop is “CAMPING LE MAINE” at the entrance to the campsite.
Your stay in a wooded campsite
In the shade of poplars and on grassy fields, come and enjoy a stay in the heart of nature.
Le Maine family campsite lies between 2 typical landscapes of the Oléronaise region, salt marshes and forest. It provides access to the beaches and the ocean via paths lined with maritime pines and holm oaks covering more than 2000 hectares, and offers extensive horse-riding, hiking and cycling trails, as well as a sports trail to delight visitors.
Stay connected with wifi
Camping Le Maine offers you a FREE wifi connection! The fiber allows you to stay connected throughout the campsite with a good quality and continuous flow.
Laundry facilities on the campsite
A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in the sanitary facilities. A wash cycle with detergent is 6 euros. A drying cycle costs 5 euros.
For those attached to the campsite’s “traditions”, wash tubs allow you to wash your clothes by hand, and for the more courageous, an ironing board and iron are available at reception.
We accept your pets
In the heart of nature, camping for all inevitably includes our 4-legged friends (dogs, cats, small pets, NAC (rabbits, hamster…), etc.).
Just like you, we are concerned about their well-being; a poop bag dispenser is installed opposite reception, to protect the living areas; dogs and cats must be kept on a leash or in a cage for NACs on the campsite premises.
Our campsite is close to both the beaches and forests of the island, so they’ll be able to enjoy their vacation to the full, and we’ll be happy to help you find the best services to meet your needs and those of your friends!

Your grocery store on the campsite at Ile d’Oléron
For those little essentials, the campsite offers a range of affordable products in its pretty Vintage grocery store in the heart of the reception area.
You’ll findfood, hygiene and cleaning products, some fresh produce as it arrives, as well as local specialities such as salt from the Port des Salines salt marsh, and products from the famous
Conserverie Dupuy and La Maison Marthe.
It’s a place where you can share a cup of coffee, tea or freshly squeezed fruit juice, and quench your thirst with a few softs with family or friends.
It’s also a space for co-working, exchanging cultural information and lifestyle philosophies.
Hot breakfast in the café-grocery and bakery service
Every morning in summer, bakery service with fresh bread and pastries (to be ordered the day before).
In its café-grocery, Camping Le Maine offers a Café area where you can sip a hot or cold drink every morning.
If you order the day before in season, you’ll have the choice of enjoying freshly baked bread and pastries to take away or enjoy in the café area, with a few tables inside and a lounge area outside in a small, intimate courtyard.
This is also the place to set up a co-working space!
Rent your bike at the campsite
Take advantage of our partner Bik’elect to rent your traditional or electric bike in a range of sizes, so you can get around the trails of the Ile d’Oléron with ease.
To make renting easier for you, this small local company rents, delivers, repairs and collects your bikes directly from Camping Le Maine!

PRM-accessible campsite
Our campsite on the Ile d’Oléron is fully equipped with a PMR mobile home and communal areas to PMR standards to accommodate people with reduced mobility.

2.5 km away, in our commune of Le Grand-Village-Plage, a U Express and Drive, a bar-tobacco shop, a pharmacy, several stores selling local specialities, a launderette, the Grand-Village-Plage market and restaurants:
Le Bain Marie, La Fabrique, Le Quemao, La Choza, Le Bonheur and IO Karukera.
It’s the perfect opportunity to discover its eco-museum at Port des Salines, an exceptional site in the salt marshes, and to meet the salt grower and his Grenier à sel d’Oléron. Here you’ll find two restaurants where you can savour our GASTRONOMY and a market full of the good smells and flavours of the country for a picnic or a boat trip.
Accessible by bike on the cycle paths, on foot, by car and by bus on the FREE summer shuttle.
Less than 4 km away, in Dolus d’Oléron, you’ll find an Intermarché, a dry cleaner, a florist, hair and beauty salons, a gym and fitness center, an optician, a chocolatier, a fishmonger, three bakeries, a pharmacy, a health center, two wine shops, a McDonald’s and several restaurants, including : La Colo, La Thébaïde, Big Saint André and La Galicrêpe.
Less than 6 km away, in Château d’Oléron, you’ll find a Super U and a COOP, 3 bakeries, a cheese shop and a butcher’s, two wine shops, a delicatessen, a dozen restaurants to try in the center as well as on the harbor and its unmissable market, its bars and tobacconists, its souvenir items, pretty decoration and fashion boutiques.
Last but not least, “couleurs cabanes”, in keeping with our maritime environment, is a village of arts and crafts, where you can talk to designers and observe or be tempted by their creations. This unique village is set amidst oyster huts, each more colorful than the last. Designers work here year-round or for temporary exhibitions: jewelry art workshops, cutlery and blacksmithing, Ukulele-making, painting and watercolors, objects and lighting, clothing and fashion accessories, ceramic and metal sculptures, engraving, illumination and calligraphy….
